Hello. Can we say "wait till I get there" when we want to warn the other person that the distance between them and us provides them safety only until we reach them? For example, a child may continue provoking their parent thinking that the fact that the parent is not within an immediate distance they cannot get spanked. Thank you.

Example:

Child provoking the parent with something
Parent (from a considerable distance: Stop it!
Child continue provoking the parent
Parent loses it and says while walking toward the child: Wait till I get there. (Then you will see something)
