What is the verb that describes the wavy movement of water in a vessel or a pot? This movement is seen when the water is shaken or the vessel was carried with jolts on the way.

Also, what is the verb that describes the wavy movement of water surface on a river or an ocean? ripple?

I ripple in a pot and sometimes in open water -- especially if it is a pond or slow-moving river and the surface is broken by a small stone or a hungry trout. Large ripples achieve wave status, although they might be small waves (never wavelets).

I don't like anything else in my Synonym Finder.

It would be the water rippling, not the vessel. The water rippled in the brass vessel as the last tremors of the earthquake subsided.
