Bonjour,

Comment dire, We have had him since he was a puppy en Français? Est-ce que c'est bien nous lui avons eu depuis qu'il est chiot?

    In French, we would use the present tense for "we have had... since..."
    → "Nous l'avons depuis qu'il est chiot."
    or "Nous l'avons depuis que c'est un chiot."

    "him" here is the direct object = "le" (avoir Ø quelque chose/quelqu'un)
    "lui" is the indirect complement. (parler à qqn → eg: "Je lui parle")
