We passed out there about five exits back.

Ciao, forum!

ALLIE - You know what? We don't have time for more research. We have to tell Will so he can defend himself.
MILES - Oh, yeah, that'll be great. "Hey, Will, you're the reincarnation of King Arthur, your step-brother is Mordred, and he's gonna try and destroy you. Are you gonna eat those fries?"
ALLIE - Hmm. Yeah, it's a little out there, isn't it?
MILES - Yeah, we passed out there about five exits back.

Grazie!

Hi, Necsus, I think the last line has to be interpreted in light of the preceding line - "it's a little out there" means it's very strange, in the twilight zone, so to speak. So to say "we passed 'out there' five exits back means they are really beyond strange into the fantastic. The "exits" are just metaphorical.
