we were flooded out of our leaky tent

Hello everybody,

I’m not sure I’ve correctly understood the meaning of the above in the following context (it takes place at Woodstock festival ’69 after a heavy downpour):

“We got caught in a major downpour […]. We were quickly flooded out of our leaky tent, so we headed to our car for some much needed rest.”

My try:

Thank you in advance for your help!
