Hello,
What do you call a place like a restaurant (sometimes combined with a hotel) which you book only to organize a wedding reception?

So is it OK to say that, for example, my parents work in the wedding industry - they run their own wedding reception venue?

Hmm, well, possibly! If that is the only function of the building. In the UK lots of hotels etc. do this as part of their business and they would not define themselves in these terms if they do other stuff too.

Do your parents really run such a business? If they only ever do weddings there then your sentence is viable.
