Hello,
My boyfriend is returning from the United Arab Emirates in a few days, and I was wondering how I would write and say "Welcome Home." Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome to the forum. :)

    The translation would be

    أهلاً وسهلاً بك في بيتك

Pronunciation: Ahlan wa sahlan bika fii baytika

Please note that this is in modern standard Arabic. Colloquial versions will vary. In Palestinian Arabic we would say "Ahla wsahla fiik bibeetak."

While Elroy of course is correct, I would find it more proper to say:

    الحمد لله على السلامة
    Alhamdulillah 'alaa as-salama

Since he's coming back from a trip.

The expression you suggest is idiomatic and correct, but it can be used whenever anybody arrives somewhere after having traveled. You can be arriving home or at another destination, so in that sense the expression is broad. Of course, that doesn't mean it wouldn't work in this context; it would, and in fact that's what would most likely be said. It's just not a translation of "welcome home."

Thank you all very much for your kindness. I do think that he shall like the Palestinian way, as he is Palestinian.
    Thank you!:)
