well-larded

Found in an american text, the adjective "well-larded" has been used to describe someone's face and I'm having trouble finding a way to translate it into French. The whole sentence is "He had an oval, well-larded face and tiny, unfriendly, somewhat weasel-like eyes." Could someone possibly give me a definition or a synonym of that word?

"visage lardé" is confusing, it's more common to describe scars...

I think both "boudiné" and "joufflu" are good ideas. And I thought of "lardé" the first time I tried to translate it but it definitely sounds weird in French.

Il me semble que si c'était le cas... ce ne serait pas suivi de "tiny, unfriendly, somewhat weasel-like eyes".

Mais je pense comme toi que joufflu est trop gentil.

Je ne crois pas me tromper en disant que la phrase est un extrait du premier chapitre du roman "Sophie's choice" de William Styron, publié en français sous le titre « Le choix de Sophie ».
Il serait intéressant de savoir comment le traducteur (Maurice Rambaud) a rendu ce passage en français. Mais je n'ai pas trouvé de version numérisée.

Il s'agit bien de "Sophie's choice", mais je n'ai pas trouvé de version numérisée non plus. Je me renseignerai afin de savoir comment il l'a traduit, ça m'intrigue. Et empâté me semble parfait! Merci encore!
