What are the chances of you making the cut tonight?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help me translate the expression to make the cut. It means to meet the requirements or to qualify to pass from one round of competition or audition to the next. Here are some example sentences:

< ... >

2. A: What are the chances of you making the cut tonight?

B: We have a good, strong team, and we want to win. I think we’ll move to the next round.

< ... >
Thanks in advance for your help.

It's always a matter of context since we do not have an exact translation in German...< ... > In 2: Wie stehen die Chancen heute weiterzukommen (for advancing from 1 round of a tournament to the next) < ... >

If you have any other examples/questions don't hesitate to ask...
