what in the heck are you doing? vs what the heck are you doing? I see both usage. Is there a difference between these two?

    The version without 'in' is a lot more common in my experience. And it also sounds a lot better to me. (Although 'heck' is the mildest thing I would ever say and that only in front of a very sensitive and refined audience where a ruder word would be completely out of place. :) )
