What is "a search room" at an airport?

I guess it is a room where Customs can rummage through your stuff without the other passengers watching.

I suspect I would feel more concerned about Customs escorting me to a private room than I would be about my dirty underwear being exposed to public view.

If by "stuff" you mean baggage then I disagree. I would assume that it is a room where the passengers themselves can be searched more thoroughly when the scanners indicate the presence of, for example, a metal item that cannot be located unless the passenger removes an item of clothing.

I agree with se16teddy. The article makes it clear - it's about a special service Heathrow airport offers to VIPs and wealthy people.
