Hello everyone, I'm very confused about 12 a.m and 12 p.m. What time of day does "Sunday 12 a.m" refer to? Is it Saturday 24 o' clock or Sunday 12 o' clock (mid-day) or Sunday 24 o' clock (Monday 0 o' clock). Thanks in advance for any help?

Sunday 12:00 AM is the earliest possible time on Sunday, i.e. the moment after Saturday ended. You could consider it "0 O'clock". 12:00 PM is in the afternoon, 12 hours after the day began.

I would have given the answer Rhye gives above, but then I looked at the thread linked to above, and I see that there is a lot of disagreement on this. That thread is closed to further comments. However, it contains a link to this thread, which is open: http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=31116
If you want to discuss it further, please add your comments there, but please read the previous posts firsts.
