what's the difference between program and programme??

    It's always been confusing to me and the dictionary hasn't helped much,can someone please tell me what's the diffenernce between the 2 words;program and programme???

    Program=Am, Programme=UK

    In the UK we tend to use the American spelling in the context of the information technology industry.
    Thus, in the UK,
    - a disk is a disc-shaped device for storing information electronically, but a coin is a disc;
    - a program is a computer program, but a programme is any other kind of programme, such as a television or concert programme.
