Hello, there

I'll be grateful if someone can handle my problem

There are two sentences:

+ As I came in, people gave me a present

+ When I came in, people gave me a present

Are those different ?,Could you give me some example about them ?

Thanks for reading

'As' implies 'immediately'. Literally, as I was entering the door, people gave me a present.

'When' could mean 'immediately, but not necessarily. You may enter the door, walk into the middle of the room, start chatting to people and then they give you present.
