Come traduco la seguente frase che riguarda il football?

    If you could put it into context maybe I could get the gist (not being very good at football jargon). As it is, it doesn't make much sense to me.

    It's a phrase from an episode of "CSI NY" it conceans a kid football team.
    The coach says this phrase before the game starts.

    "Pump fake" might refer to pretending to pass the football ("pump" refers to the arm motion when a quarterback passes the ball). "Go on the deep post" sounds like an instruction to a potential pass-receiver to run far down the football field (often described as "going long" or "going deep").

    pump fake - the quarterback pretends to throw the ball, but holds it for a second and then throws it. This can trick the defense and give more time for the receiver to run his route.
    deep post - the route the receiver is running, deep towards the middle of the field (towards the goal post).
    I am not sure how to translate it.

    si per quanto ne so io anche nel basket si usa questa terminologia, ovvero "io finto il tiro, e tu fai un movimento offensivo in modo che io poi ti possa passare la palla". :)
