I have difficulty in understanding the following paragraph. Could someone make it simple and understandable for me?

Where we found others most deficient and most neglectful in our history is where we will prove most needy, most demanding, or most manipulative of the one we profess to love.

Where (=the place or time at which)
we found others
[to be] most deficient and most neglectful
in our history
is
where (=the place or time at which)
we will prove most needy, most demanding, or most manipulative
of the one [whom] we profess to love.

You know, I can't find any connection bewteen these two "where"!

They are the same place...

A: I can't find my phone!
B: Where you will find it is where you last used it. = the place at which you will find it is the place at which you last used it.
