Which is more formal?
I am sending an email to the customer.
I want to sound formal but don't know which one to say.
Basically the customer has paid twice for the same item.
What should I say?

You have paid twice for the same item.
or
You have paid two times for the same item.
or
We received two payments for the same item.

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't use the second: two times isn't very usual.

Either the first or the third would be fine; the third is the more formal-sounding.

I might choose to write We have received from you two payments for the same item.
