Which one is right?

Yesterday we visited the City Museum, which I'd never been to before.
Yesterday we visited the City Museum, where I'd never been to before.

I think both of which are correct.

    "Where" can't be followed by "been to." You can say "where I'd never been before," but your first option (which) is a bit better.

    I'm in Dallas.
    I've never been to Dallas.

    Dallas is a place where I've never been to. (Sort of slangy but OK.)

    "Which" does sound better for a small location such as a museum. More context would help.

    I'd be willing to bet, though, that you wouldn't say "Dallas is a place to where I've never been" ("to which," on the other hand, would be fine).

    Ah! You got me there. Why is that the case?

    But if Paco is trying to answer some exam question, then "which" is probably better. Not sure.
