I told my daughter that she should put the red ring onto the red stick, put the yellow ring onto the yellow stick, put the black ring onto the black stick. I wanted to know whether she understood me so I asked her:

"Do you know which ring you should put onto which stick? "

Is it correct to use two "which" in the above sentence?

Thank you.

That's the way I would phrase it.

Not withstanding what our teachers taught us there are frequent situations where the best word should be the word to repeat. Consider the previous sentence. What word would I use to replace the second "word"?

    I think this is fine.
