The protagonist, Philip moved in with his uncle Mr. Carey, the Vicar of Blackstable after his mother's death.

............................................
She had the small regular features, the blue eyes, and the broad low brow, which the Victorian painters, Lord Leighton, Alma Tadema, and a hundred others, induced the world they lived in to accept as a type of Greek beauty.
[Of Human Bondage by Somerset Maugham]
I'd like to know if "to accept" modifies "the world."
Thank you in advance for your help.

I wouldn't say it "modifies" the world, PSJ.

But yes, it's the world they lived in which was persuaded to accept small features etc as typical of Greek beauty.
