In the movie 'The Lincoln Lawyer2011' Val who is a bondsman is talking to a friend of his who is a lawyer and is going to offer his friend (the lawyer) a rich client that he has found for him, and tells him this : I'm giving you a big chance to whoop in the world and help me man. My daughter's about to go to surgery.
What does he mean by saying the bold sentence?

    "Whoops" A nickname for the Washington Public Power Supply System, which in the 1979s raised billions of dollars through municipal bond offerings, the projects that never materialized. WPPSS defaulted on the payments to bondholders.
    Perhaps, in your cited sentence "to whoop" means: "to make money easily by participating in fraudulent business".
