Is C.V. here read simply as C,V? Or read is as curriculum vitae?

Thanks in advance

Why a C.V. of Failures?
Voytek isn’t the only academic who’s “out” about failures. Last year, Johannes Haushofer, assistant professor of psychology at Princeton University, got a flood of media attention for having his own C.V. of failures.

I read it as C.V. It's so familiar to so many people that you wouldn't read out the long form, any more than you would read IBM as International Business Machines.
