I'm working in a translation which speaks about desire in a philosophical or psychological context. what is the best option, wish or desire? Can I use them interchangeably to avoid repetition or wish sounds to informal in this context? This is my try:

Human intelligence has an expansive and unstoppable dynamism which gives the human being a deep desire and curiosity to find answer to many questions that often only get unclear explanations. Some impulses, needs, aspirations, desires in sum, are constant in all cultures and all historical periods. Experts agree that these anthropological desires are universal

Thanks. That's what I thought. What I don't like is repetition, but since text is already a bit "heavy" maybe it's just a petty thing
