In the book Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, I found a unusual use of "short"; it seems to be a noun which means "low battery", but I"m n't sure... Anyone could confirm?
“A cat with a short in its power supply.”
It's this one in the on-site dictionary shortn (electricity: short circuit) (Électricité) court-circuit nm
