I've written the sentence below, I'm not sure if the red part is an idiomatic expression.
The word X, with frequency of 183 (it's been repeated 183 times) is one of the most frequently used words in his novels.

    No. It should be "a frequency of". However, it's probably not the right word to use. A total count is not a frequency. In any case, it's not needed.

    "The word 'maudling', used 183 times, is one of ..."

    A small point. If a word was used 183 times it has been repeated 182 times.
