With the interest in those wonders, I made a wish one day I would visit that country.


My students wrote this sentence. Does it sound right to you, especially the underlined part? Before this, she wrote about many wonders in a certain country. Thanks.

    It is not the sentence that a native speaker would usually write and is, in fact, slightly confusing. I won't suggest a more correct alternative since I cannot be sure of the precise intent of the writer, especially in the case of the underlined phrase.
