With many European economies showing slow growth, the retail sector is coming under increasing pressure to improve its service and cater more for consumer demands.

I found this article in the web,but I can't guess the right translation-meaning of WITH in this case...

It translates more as "a lot" as in A lot of European economies

I think a literal translation to italian would do, in spanish it works that way although it had to be "with so many"

you already have "a lot" using the word "many", wouldn´t you think?
