Hello:

When a worm is crawling forward on the ground, it first bends its body in a "" shape(arches its back), then it lies down straightening its body, it repeats this movement again and again, so it can move forward.

Can I say the following sentence? Or something else to describe this body movement.
The worm arches along the ground.

Thanks.

It is slightly poetic but, "Yes, you can." (I think it is a good use.)
