Hi, everyone:

He is carrying a worn basket on his shoulders. Small chunks of charcoal in the basket keeps falling down to the ground as he is walking on a bumpy road.


I wonder if "worn basket" is ok in the sentence above.
Could you give your version?


more explanation:
Since a basket has "holes" per se. I'm not sure how to describe a "worn" basket.

    The sentence is quite fine as it is, however if you want another version:

    He is carrying on his shoulders a worn basket with holes. Small chunks of charcoal in the basket keep falling to the ground as he walks on a bumpy road.

    I think worn sounds a little unusual. I would rather say old, which usually implies much wear; battered would be fine, apart from the alliteration; how about rickety or tired, old?
