Would sooner

Imagine the following situation:

On Sunday I dined with a girl, even though on Saturday I was a bit afraid(maybe because of my shyness ) and I regretted having asked her out .On Monday I met a friend and I said:

"I really enjoyed last night's date with Lucy ,even though on Staurday I would sooner I haven't dated her ."
Is the phrase in bold correct here?

Thank you in advance!:)

Keith is right of course, but I'm not sure that you can talk about "sooner not have" from the point of view of the past, without creating some confusion in the mind of the listener.

I suggest: "...on Saturday I was regretting having asked her out."
