write me/to me

hello everyone!
I'm just arguing with my friend who wrote 'write to me' whether this form is correct...As for me the correct one is 'write me'...
Can anyone help me to find the solution? (there is no direct object by the way)

Both are correct.

"Write me" is American English while "write to me" is British English.

In America, I've heard both terms equally. Neither is more correct, they're both casual usages.

Yes, both are used in American English, but "write me" is markedly American, i.e. as far as I know it is not used in British English.
