I have just found an anti-ad about tobacco, showing a cowboy in the Rockies tranporting a body bag on horseback. At the bottom, I can read "Yee haw! You can too be an independent, rugged, macho-looking dead guy."
How would you translate the exclamation "Yee haw" in French?
    Thank you!

    Salut,

I didn't realise there were cowboys in France. When you watch a dubbed cowboy film, what do they say in French?

To be honest, I cannot really imagine there being an equivalent.

Hmm... I think the most literal equivalent would be "youpi"
But given the rest of the sentence, I'd probably go for something like "Et oui !" or "Trop cool / trop bien !"...

Actually, depends on the targeted audience, I think... :s

    Hey,

I'm not sure there's such an exclamation in french.
This "yee-haw" sounds like it exclusively belongs to the american cowboy semantic field..
And we actually don't have any in France. So...
This probably expresses satisfaction and excitement so, as long as you believe you are a cowboy, you might just use the original english expression...
Otherwise, I guess "Allez !" could work for excitement and satisfaction, depending on how you say it !

Comment traduit-on ''yee haw'' en français?

Oui.

"Hue dada" or "En selle ma belle" maybe?
