I REALLY wanted to use this tonight at dinner. I knew how to explain the meaning of it to my Japanese friend but I couldn't translate the pseudo 'kotozawa' :(

多分、’あなたが何を食べるです’?

I thinks it is "kotowaza" (ことわざ)

    These pages will help you.
    http://www.eigo21.com/etc/maxim/00.htm

"You are what you eat ことわざ"
Search these words by Google, then you will find more info.

I think this kotowasa is true but in my country, we don't have this "ことわざ". At least I don't know this as kotowaza.

    Good luck!

    Thanks, yeah typo...

It's not really kotowaza that's why I said "pseudo kotowaza".

    Maybe it's more イディオム 慣用句。Actually it's probably more 戒め。

EDIT: Hey thanks for that link!! They have it!!

I found one more website which it will help you but it is personal one, so I did not add it.
When you add the word which I wrote in Google, then you can find it.

As far as I read the page which I add the url, it is "kotowaza" in Germany.

In my country, It is neither イディオム nor 戒め.
We may have a closest "kotowaza" but at this moment, I can't remamber it at all.

    Ahoj !

How about using きまる (intransitive of きめる; determine [especially of reputation, future, grading etc.])?

    人は食べるものできまる

The bold part can be freely replaced by other idiomatic "determiners" of one's fate such as 職業, 伴侶 and 考え方.
