You can get this book

Hello. My friend said to me like this "you can get this book called "The Oxford Modern English Grammar". My question is what does "get" mean in this sentence?

As I’ve just remarked in another thread, Oxford lists 33 different ways in which the word “get” is used, followed by various set phrases and phrasal verbs, many of which have multiple meanings.

So although in this instance “get” means to obtain or acquire, by one means or another, please don’t assume that it will necessarily mean the same in another context.
