You tell him!

Bonsoir.

Deux personnes se querellent, et la troisième partie dit soudain à son ami (l'une des deux): You tell him! (Let him have it!)

Sinon, faites-moi signe!:D

  • Hello,

Your suggested translations seem way to strong. They sound really aggressive in French.
I think "Tu l'as dit" or "bien dit" should be fine, for the aim of "you tell him" in that case is to emphasize the point of one of the person involved in the argument.
Weirdly enough people around my age (less than 30) could also say in such a case "Tu m'étonnes"... Don't ask my why...

    Hope that helps.

I don't think you understand the English connotation: "You tell him" can be used to come off as very aggressive. It means that same thing as "Let him have it." I didn't provide enough context, maybe.
